So that said, a little bit about us….
My Dad always had a passion for homes, and I always said that if he hadn’t become an engineer he would have been an architect. I have always had a drive for design and art in many forms. Everything from drawing and sewing to fashion and painting, and I was able to transform that into something I was able to make a career of. In high school art was the class I most enjoyed… but then what to do with it?? After high school I met a wonderful designer that offered to take me to the SF Design Center to show me what it was all about and I fell in love! I have been in design ever since.
I spent the first 7 years of my design career at a Design/Build firm in Mountain View while simultaneously finishing my degree in design at San Jose State. After learning all there was to learn about design, building, interiors, and structurals I was ready for something new! What was next?? I had the serendipitous opportunity of working with Lisa for the next 10 years of my career at another Design/Build company in Campbell. Having the opportunity to design larger projects allowed me to expand my knowledge of building and remodeling, and I am so grateful for having met my fabulous partner!
Growing up near New Orleans, I spent many weekends with my family touring homes both old and new. My mom and dad always enjoyed building homes from the ground up and were great at letting me be a part of the decisions at such a young age. I loved the entire process! From sketching the floor plan on a napkin, to picking each fabric on the pillows with my mom, I loved the creativity and seeing it all come together!
When it came time to go to college, I knew from the start, I wanted to be an Interior Designer with a focus in residential design. There was never any question on what I wanted to be….it just felt natural, like the next step in life! I went to Baylor University for my education and landed in Dallas at an architectural design firm after receiving my degree. A great opportunity opened up for a residential design position in California and I jumped at the chance to move to the Sunshine State! It has felt like home ever since! This is when I learned about remodeling homes and loved the challenge of taking an existing structure and make it fit today’s modern family. From there, I spent the next almost 15 years in the Design/Build world learning everything I could about kitchen & bath design, additions, interiors and the remodeling industry. What a phenomenal opportunity to see how my designs could come together in construction! I am so grateful for my experience in Design/Build not only for the opportunity to learn about remodeling, but also to meet and work side-by-side with my amazing partner, Gemma. She is a true talent to be reckoned with and I am so excited to have joined forces as C&C!
Together we are C&C! In the last 10 years we have found our balance together and are the yin to the other’s yang. We want to share our past work with you prior to our partnership, and thank our previous Design/Build company where we shared over a decade of work together.
