Our Design Process

So where do we begin? Let’s start with a consult! Shoot us a message and we’ll set up a time to chat and discuss your overall wishes and needs for your home. Next we’ll come by and see your home and talk in further detail about what works and what doesn’t work in your existing space, and discuss design concepts and ideas you are hoping to achieve.

Once we know each other a bit better and we have seen your home, we'll put together a project proposal outlining all the steps we go through during the design process, roughly how long it will take, and how much it will cost. Then the fun begins!

Our next step is to measure your home, and site if applicable, and produce floor plans along with 3D renderings of each plan.

Here’s an example!

After some adjustments and combining of plans we come to a final floor plan, and it’s at this point that we like to check in with our builder to make sure that the budget and design are in sync. Involving an engineer at this point for any structural changes is also beneficial and we like to build this team early. Communication among the team early on is key to having a smooth construction process later.

As we work through the design process together, finish and fixture selections are specified and added to the plans and renderings. A complete package is put together consisting of architectural working drawings and structural plans required for permits, any additional city requirements are addressed, such as Title 24 calculations, and all specifications are finalized.

Then... construction begins! (Click here for what to expect during construction)

Don’t worry! During construction we are available for site visits and to answer any questions that may come up. And hey, let’s be real, we love to see the progress along the way and are happy to meet you on site! We are there with you through to the end.

Send us a message here and let us know how we can help!
